top chef masters
I’m loving Top Chef Masters. For those who are familiar with the Top Chef series, it’s roughly the same format but instead of amateurs the contestants are renowned chefs (such as Hubert Keller, Cindy Pawlcyn, Rick Bayless and Wylie Dufresne), all competing for money for their chosen charities. Each episode sees four chefs go head-to-head on a quickfire challenge (one challenge involved creating an amuse-bouche with the contents of a vending machine) and a lengthier elimination challenge. It’s compelling viewing, made even more entertaining on the rare instances where the top-tier chefs don’t quite live up to their reputation. The show’s only flaw? The usual Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi has been replaced by the pointless Kelly Choi.
