WHO’S GT?

D B

gour·met n. a person devoted to refined sensuous enjoyment (especially good food & drink) trav·el·ler n. one who travels or has travelled…to distant places.

This blog was borne out of a love for food and wine, and my constant pursuit of new epicurean adventures through cooking, eating, reading and travel – hence the moniker “gourmet traveller” (not intended to rip-off the Australian food mag of the same name!).

Having previously lived in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong, I am currently happily settled in West London with my other-half, B. We are both avid cooks – during the week (when not dining out), I’m the designated chef but B will often spend a fair bit of time slaving over the hob most weekends. Our shared appreciation of good eating and drinking began at a young age (as our photos will reveal!) and the food we whip up at home is diverse, reflecting both our multi-cultural backgrounds, and extensive travels abroad.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in our culinary escapades in and out of the kitchen. Hopefully you’ve found something to take away with you – be it a recipe you’d like to give a whirl, or a restaurant to add to the “to do” list.

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, I’d love to hear from you – feel free to drop me a line at gourmettravellerblog@gmail.com or give me a holler on twitter. You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram.

  9. Hi,

Is there any way to get in touch with you via email as I am interested in finding out more about your photo sources.

  11. Bonjour,
This is a very nice blog, love it. must take a lot of time doing it but passionate as you are, you must enjoy making it as must I we enjoy surfing it. I wish to have more poeples like you in my restaurant.

  12. i was searching the internet for ox tongue recipes (more specifically, hong kong style baked ox tongue on rice or spaghetti) and found your blog. your mom’s soy braised ox tongue recipe sounds delicious!

  13. Saw your blog from searching for Meat Liquor which I’ve just visited – wow what good burgers – I looked on this page as I suspect there is a disproportionately high number of food bloggers who are from Asia – good to see we have the priorities right !

  14. GT,

I have just begun blogging and came across yours a couple of weeks ago. Not only is it incredibly inspirational, its also an education. I just can’t believe how often you get out to eat! Even more than food journalists.

Anyhow, i’m signing up to your blog and even trying your sweet potato chips tonight. Not sure how they look so crispy though?

    Regards

    • Thanks Dave, that’s lovely to hear. Good luck with those chips – somehow my camera made them look crisper than they are so don’t expect them to some out super crunchy!
